6 Tips For Internal Happiness

What are you here to do? What is your life purpose?
I understand it’s not as easy as just asking the above questions, trust me I have been there, it took me a long time to find my purpose. I’m blessed and grateful, that I chose to take time out in my life to heal, to look deep within, to figure out why I was so unhappy for so long. It often takes us to feel extreme pain, desperation to make massive change in our life. We get to a point where we have had enough, things have gone too far and we have no choice but to change.
Happiness is a choice, sadness is a choice. I chose happiness and took massive action to get the results that I wanted. The key is, never give up, if one path doesn’t work, what do you do? Try another. And if that next path doesn’t work, what do you do? Try another. You keep on trying until something works. Don’t ever give up!
6 Tips For Internal Happiness
1. Look within, stop looking externally for happiness. Too often, we look for a relationship to make us happy, we are waiting for the perfect six pack or the body, we will be happy when we purchase that new car that we have been dreaming about. Ask yourself some questions; ‘Please guide me to internal happiness.’ Sit and wait for the answers. ‘I’m feeling stuck and I’m not sure what step to take next, can you please guide me?’ Sit silently and listen for the answers, those first thoughts are your answers. I mention this a lot in my blog posts, we have all the answers, if we tune in and listen to our intuition we will be guided very clearly.
2. Allow your adult self to see you for who you really are. Acceptance. If you are sad, depressed, frustrated, angry because of where you are at in life, be honest with yourself, see it for what it is. If you can be honest, you are half way there, the more you try and resist the position that you are in, the more anxiety and unhappiness you will experience. You need to understand why you are experiencing these emotions, the process to do this is Step 1, look within and ask questions. Any question that comes to mind is the right question, you will be guided I’m sure.
3. Loving thoughts and feelings towards ourselves. Start feeling love for yourself, treat yourself with love and respect, say kind words to yourself, being proud of who you are and what you have achieved in life. Write a letter to yourself and list all of your achievements and what you are proud of. Sometimes this can be a little challenge, resistance seems to creep up at this point, if you close your eyes, sit in silence and ask for guidance to release all resistance that you are feeling, allow it all to come to the surface and release. Now begin your beautiful letter again, recognise your amazing qualities, and feel your inner beauty.
4. Write a list of your passions. I understand that your list of passions can be external things, the process of even writing the list is going internal though. It’s about connecting internally to find these answers. What brings you the feelings of joy and happiness? What excites you?

6. Make a decision and take action. Sometimes it is as simple as that. We all go through periods of life where we feel stuck, we aren’t happy and sometimes it’s as simple as changing our mindset from fear to love. The time that we spend sitting and procrastinating about why we are unhappy, we could be already on our journey to internal happiness.
